Hearing directly from an apprentice can help young people understand what an apprenticeship might mean for their own future. On 21 October 2026, LMAC returned to De La Salle Secondary School in Basildon for its Apprentice Carousel Event, engaging with approximately 130 students from Years 10 and 11.

Nadia, our Head of Social Value & Fundraising, attended alongside Cris, our Electrical Apprentice, to talk with students about careers and routes into employment.
Exploring apprenticeship pathways
The carousel format gave students the opportunity to speak directly with apprenticeship providers and ask questions about their options. LMAC joined other organisations including Morgan Sindall, the Civil Service, Debut Academy, the NHS and South Essex College.
With Cris taking part alongside Nadia, students had the chance to hear from an apprentice as well as a member of our wider team. These conversations offered a connection between the choices students are considering at school and the opportunities available beyond the classroom.

Sharing knowledge of the housing sector
At LMAC, we understand the importance of working with schools and their students. By supporting employability events, we can share our industry knowledge, highlight different routes into employment and introduce young people to the range of roles available within the housing sector.
The visit followed our participation in the school’s mock interview event on 15 October, continuing our support for its careers education activities.
Encouraging feedback from the school
Hazel, Deputy Head at De La Salle, thanked the organisations involved and highlighted the positive initial feedback:
“The initial feedback from students has been extremely positive, appreciating the opportunity to talk to a range of professionals about the Apprenticeship Pathway.”
“Thank you once again for your invaluable support. We greatly appreciate the contribution you make to our students’ career education and aspirations.”
We were delighted to contribute alongside the other providers and help students explore the possibilities ahead of them. Thank you to De La Salle Secondary School for welcoming us back, and to everyone involved in bringing the event together.
