LMAC are delighted to announce that ‘The Spread A Smile Euro Trophy’ which took part at Billericay FC raised a staggering £16,600 pounds for children’s charity ‘Spreadasmile’.

A big thank you to Chairman Nick Hutt and his team for allowing us to hold the event at Billericay FC for free.

A special mention to CSR Fire and Security Recruitment for acting as our main sponsor and Elevate Entertainment for sponsoring a pitch along with all those who donated prizes for auction.

This year our two physios Jamie Mckagan and Michael Photokos on hand to keep the tired limbs working.

With 22 teams fit and raring to go the tournament kicked off at 10.30 in perfect weather conditions. The football was very competitive but played in a great spirit.

The team were split into 4 Groups , A, B, C, and D

The teams finishing top of their groups were Group A – Albania  17 points, Group B – Czech Republic 15 points, Group C – France 13 points and Group D –  Spain 13 points

Knockout stages 

The top two teams from each group went into the quarter finals of the Euro Trophy and those teams finishing inn 3rd and 4th place went into the quarter finals of the plate competition.

Euro Trophy

Albania, the Czech Republic, France and Poland went into the semi finals of the Euro Trophy.

Albania and Poland met in the final with Albania living the Trophy by beating Poland 3-0

Euro Plate Trophy

England, Austria, Portugal and Romania progressed to the semi finals.

England reached the final against Romania with England losing 2-0

Let us hope in the real tournament England are triumphant.
